The Sacral Chakra, though, is associated with the adrenal glands — responsible for producing the hormones adrenaline and cortisol, among others. Unsurprisingly, the sacral nerve plexus is near the Sacral Chakra, and it provides sensory and motor nerves for the legs and hips again, like the Root Chakra. After our basic needs for food and shelter are met, survival expands to reproduction and the continuation of our species. This is the part of our body that literally creates life and this Chakra is the seat of our impulses to relate and procreate. Nothing about this energy system says we all have to have identical impulses! The flip side of the chakra is found in addictions to food, sex, alcohol, anything , suspicion, and self-destruction. Obviously, a food addiction can lead to weight gain.

When we look at our energy-system, we see where energies are stuck or stagnant, or overactive and scattered. An energetic perspective gives you a new way of looking at old issues.
