When using Comcast's Xfinity line of cable and voice modems for your business office, there are occasionally times when resetting the modem is prudent. If you notice employees waiting on file transfers or if you cannot connect to the Internet or your connection is painfully slow, a reset can restore your modem to optimal functionality under most circumstances. Resetting the modem varies slightly depending on the model of modem. Some Comcast modems are equipped with a "Reset" button for quick resets. To reset these modems, locate the "Reset" button on the front or back of your modem. The location varies from one model to the next, but the button is always cleared marked. Press and hold the button for at least five seconds. Depending on your modem model, you may need to use a thin, non-metallic object like the tip of a ballpoint pen to push the button. Release the button and allow the modem a few moments to complete the reset process. For modems without a reset button, you'll have to "power cycle" the modem.
Because, of course, you need to finish your work, get back to your video game, or scroll on social media. So here are a few ways to get your internet up and going again. There are two easy ways to do this. Sometimes the problem can be the device itself. Xfinity suggests xFi pods if this is your problem.
